HASAGAWA Sd.Kfz 251/9 : with SHQ Waffen SS Figures

Sd.Kfz 251/9 Model
It came a a sweet surprise when I spotted this kit on my local hobby shop* shelve as I had no idea it was being released let alone by Hasagawa but it goes to say that this is a lovely kit and with the Pak40 version and the standard version Hasagawa have done the smallscale market proud even the vinyl track with one or 2 links trimmed off with a sharpe hobby knofe fit well together with no join. The vehicle detail is very good and the lines are excellent.

PAINTING AND DETAILING
The only details i added were some spent cases on the floor, a small arm on the seat and a wire antenna as well as some figures from the now out of production old SHQ SS figures. I handpainted the vehicle in an off green panzer sand colour mixed to match a shade I seen in a book and I seen in a book and added olive green mottling with dark green outer shading soft smudged. (The figures were painted with acrylics and are maybe a little wargamey in style now looking back.)

CONCLUSION
I really enjoyed building this kit and the only little problem I could foreseen is the connection of the stowage boxes to the hull as it is difficult to get them sitting smooth.

Many thanks to Ian Hanrattyfrom the Glasgow Model Club for taking the pictures.
I must admit I finished the join off with a little bit of miliput. I would definately recommend this and the other 2 versions to other modellers as they are a very welcome addition to the smallscale market.
* I picked this kit up at a reasonable price from Jamiesons Model Shop in Glasgow
